Dr Simon Ryder-Lewis

Dr Simon Ryder-Lewis has extensive experience in occupational medicine and consults to industry and small businesses throughout New Zealand. He graduated as a Medical Practitioner from Otago University in 1994 and has worked full time in medical practice since. He is currently registered to practise as a Medical Practitioner in New Zealand (NZMC No. 20475) and holds a number of Occupational Physician positions in the Wellington region.
Simon has completed post-graduate training in Occupational Medicine and attends regular ongoing education. He holds the post-graduate Diploma in Industrial Health from the University of Otago and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He worked for a number of years as consultant at a Chronic Pain Service at Lower Hutt Hospital and is a former Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Occupational Medicine at Otago University, Wellington School of Medicine.
He has undertaken medico-legal expert-witness training with the Australasian College of Legal Medicine. His experience includes previous work as a consultant for the WorkSafe New Zealand Asbestos and Occupational Respiratory Diseases Panel. He is a member and former President of ANZSOM, and a member of the UK Society of Occupational Medicine, MEDICHEM, ICOH, IOMSC, and AMROA.
